Movie Producer, Actor, Dancer, Model, and Founder of Sasin Productions

…It’s funny to think that my love for movies, dance and music stemmed from a bout of stage fright and a single – but firm and fateful – slap in the face.

Growing up as a boy in Hyderabad, India, I was extremely shy yet, ironically, I sought the limelight; so I asked my mother to enroll me in dance classes at a local studio. She said ok, she took me and, big talker that I was, I was determined to be a star… at least until the moment came that the teachers at the dance studio asked me to take part in a public stage performance. The day of the performance, my mother signaled me that my turn was coming, and a fear so deep welled up inside me that I told her no, I protested, and I started to run away in resistance. I was ready to do anything to get out of that place, but my mother was just fast enough to bring me to my senses. Upset at me for not following through on my plan, she unleashed her strength and fury with that hand that, nonetheless, I love so much today. Brought me to my senses she did; I gathered my courage (because now I was actually more afraid of her than the audition itself) and I pulled myself together to perform.

Not only did I make it through the performance alive, but I loved doing it. I am still a relatively reserved man today, but not when I am on stage or in front of the camera. So there it is. I act, dance, and model, and now, I am commencing a journey to make the movies I love. Sasin Productions is just getting started, and I can’t wait to begin filming my first movie, an international effort in both my native language of Telugu (thus, not a Bollywood but a Tollywood film) and English, a love story and movie-musical set in the beautiful city of Austin, Texas.

Whether it comes to modeling, acting or dancing, I’m a performer at heart. At 16 I danced my way to the semi-finalist round of India’s “Andhra Idol” (Maa TV, 2006) and, later, fresh out of university I was signed by Wilhelmina on a modeling contract. I also appeared in few print publications and runway events (including for Revlon and American Crew), acted in a number of theatre productions and films – including Indraganti’s Snehabandam and Kona Venkat’s Ram and Juliet – and shown up in commercials and corporate videos for the likes of Amway, Sysco and The Oasis Brewing Company. I love choreographing dances for mixed dance companies and for my own entertainment brand, Sasin Productions.
